Proctor is the Victim!!!
In the conflict between Proctor and Abigail, John Proctor is the victim. In the sense that Abigail is not going after Proctor in anyway at first. He is the victim by accusing Elizabeth Proctor for being a witch. Because she is his wife, and he has committed adultery.
Abigail at first is just trying to protect herself from being accused for being a witch. And during this process is conducting side projects to get back at people she is at odds with. By putting a needle in the doll that Mary made for Elizabeth. In this little gesture of the needle being in the doll. After Abigail is in a tremendous amount of pain with Judges Danforth and Hawthorne. When Cheever comes to search the Proctor house (after Hale questions Proctor (about his Christian knowledge), Elizabeth looks like she is involved with witchcraft and trying to cause harm to Abigail.
Abigail has really done the worst thing she can do to proctor. In the end this act makes Proctor the victim because the woman he loves being in prison with his child, is way worse of an attack on Elizabeth then if Abigail would try do something to Proctor.
